This update has been a long time coming, four months to be exact. In that time there have been a number of great posts on the Facebook Group and a few things going on around Sumburgh Airport.
Ryan Mullay. We also have a new record for the oldest aircraft on the archives with G-ACDM being added by John R Brown. G-ACDM was built around 1933 which beats the previous oldest aircraft (G-AHBM by Ronnie Robertson) by 2 years. In November it was announced that Loganair and FlyBe would be going their seperate ways with Loganair going it alone on the North Isles routes from August 2017.

In January a Dornier 328-110 (D-CTRJ) decided to pop in to Sumburgh for some cross-wind training which ended fairly predictably.

After a lengthy run, BenAir have lost the Royal Mail contract, losing out to Loganair. They had been operating the service up until the 1st February 2017.
It was sad news all round in March when it was heard that EI-ICR (Rescue 119) had been lost at sea resulting in the loss of life of all on board. This aircraft was previously registered as G-GCOC and served as Oscar Charlie at Sumburgh for 6 years.
