Flightline were based in Southend-on-Sea and operated from 1990 to 2008. They regularly visited Sumburgh after they took over the IAC (Integrated Aviation Consortium) contract from British World Airlines in November 2001 to ferry oil workers from Aberdeen to Shetland. Primarily their fleet consisted of BAe 146’s but they also had 3 McDonnell Douglas MD-83’s that they used for holiday charter flights.
The company was placed into administration on 3 December 2008 and Eastern Airways took over the contract.
