DirectFlight was established in 1983
DirectFlight operated in Shetland from 1991 to 2004 for the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (SFPA) using two Cessna F406 surveillance aircraft.
Since 2006 they have operated the Inter Island scheduled flights for Shetland Islands Council. They use two Britten Norman Islander aircraft to ferry passengers to and from Foula, Out Skerries, Papa Stour and Fair Isle. They are based at Tingwall Airport.
